Plant operators have a large impact on the operational efficiency of a CHPP by operation of equipment and their problem solving abilities . Training plant operators in the fundamentals of coal processing and familiarising them with the in-depth operational aspects of their specific CPP has been proven to result in significant efficiency benefits, as well as access to ‘user friendly’ operating manuals or references. Operators who understand the principles behind the processes they are operating have a greater ability to make optimal decisions when required.
Service Industries
Understanding the principles of coal processing can have a major impact on the planning, design and implementation of projects or services which support the coal processing industry. Correctly identifying the interactions between related CPP services and direct coal processing operations as well as training staff in coal processing fundamentals can greatly improve systems design as well as the smoothness and efficiency of service provision. TARPs
In addition to operator training, QPS can develop a series of Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs) for a CPP. The TARPS define a specific triggering event and the appropriate operator response to correct an issue within the plant. TARP booklets are a brief and easy to use, encompassing indexed references for each piece of equipment. Ideally they should be kept in the control room for easy access.
